Traders and Marketers Association resolves factional dispute

The lingering crisis rocking, Nasarawa state Trader and Marketers Association has finally been put to rest as National body recognized, Alhaji Turaki Gamji faction as authentic.

This was disclosed by the North Central zonal Chairman of the association, Alhaji Abubakar Tanko in an interview shorty after commissioning office facilities of the association in Lafia.

He said, there was need to drag the issue any longer as the headquarters has recognised the Alhaji Gamji factional group as authentic, saying the other group should collapse and work together with him.

The zonal Chairman alleged that the embattled State Chairman, Alhaji Shammasu Dan Tsoho has shown a level of disrespect to those that matters in the association which include, Sangarin Kwandare, Alhaji Ahmadu Al-makura among others.

“For your information, Al-makura has remained one person that earns respect from all members of traders and Marketers considering his numerous contributions to the growth and development of the association.

He said that with the presence of leaders from the 19 northern states, it has clearly demonstrated that, “We at the national body backs the present leadership in the State.

Alhaji Kyari who was the former State Chairman of TMA, confirmed that the association in recent times has never recorded success just as the present leadership recorded within short period.

“I was elected as Vice Chairman TMA, in Plateau state in 1994 when Nasarawa state was created in 1996, I automatically become State Chairman of the association in the state and we did our best as leaders.

He called on members to be law and abiding citizens, just as he urged them to continue to support leaders under the watch of Alhaji Turaki Gamji for better tomorrow.

Speaking to our correspondent, State Chairman, Board of Trustees, TMA, Abdullahi Ralwanu commented on the crisis bedevilled the association, saying that, Shammasu Dan Tsoho faction lack capacity to run the affairs of the association in the state.

“I want to tell you and readers that I’m among those that supported, former Chairman with a view that he will salvage the association, but the reverse is the case.
