Abia Federal lawmaker, Ossy Prestige is dead

A member representing Aba North/South Feder Constituency in the House of Representatives, Ossy Prestige is dead

He died on Monday after a protracted illness.

The deceased lawmaker was elected on the platform of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and was not reportedly ill before Monday.

Source close to the family said, he was getting prepared to resume his legislative activitiy on Tuesday after a long Christmas and New year break.

Abia State APGA Chairman could not be reached by CAPITAL POST to share the feeling of the party, but his colleague and House Spokesman, Hon. Benjamin Kalu, also confirmed the death.

“He has been confirmed dead by a family member,” he said.

Another source, who is part of the House leadership, also confirmed that the deceased passed on.

“Yes, it is true that he has died. It will be announced during plenary tomorrow and the House would adjourn,” the member who doesn’t want his name mentioned because he was not authorised to speak, said.

The late Mr Prestige is the third member of the House that has passed on during the current ninth assembly.

The two others who passed on before him are Jaafaru Illiyasu and Mohammed Faggen-Gawo.
