Wamakko, two others shower gifts of motorcycles, wrappers, cash, on graduands of Islamiyya School
The Chairman of the Sanate Committee on Defence and Deputy Chairman, Senate Committee on Anti Corruption, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, on Saturday, in Wamakko town, headquarters of Wamakko Local Government of Sokoto State, showered gifts of motorcycles, clothing, materials and cash, to graduands of the Salihu Barade Islamiyya School, Gidan Kara, Wamakko.
The graduands, all females, who included both married and single girls, added glamour to the epoch making annual ceremony with the beautiful recitations from the Glorious Quran, the Propehtic Traditons and other forms of Islamic Knowledge.
Speaking at the event, Wamakko, who represents Sokoto North Senatorial District donated three motorcycles to the Headmaster and his two Deputies, as well as two hundred and fifty wrappers to the graduands.
Similarly, the Executive Secretary of the Police Trust Fund, Alhaji Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto, donated N 100,000, as well as promised to build some classroons.
Also, the Member, House of Representatives, represenitng Wamakko and Kware Federal Constituency, donated fourty wrappers and a promise to sink a borehole in the school.
Wamakko, a former Governor of Sokoto State, underscored the importance of education, especially that of the girl child, saying, “it enhances the living conditions.”
The Overseer of the School, Ahmad Barade Wamakko expressed delight with its increasing acceptance.
Various Islamic Clerics delivered sermons at the occasion, who included Mallam Muhammadu Dangande Wamakko, Mallam Bakiru Gulma and Dr Jabir Sani Maihula.
Various dignitaries attended the ceremony, who included the former Minister of Transport, Alhaji Yusuf Suleiman .
