The former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Yakubu Dogara; and the Caretaker Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Nasarawa State, Mr John Mamman, also.hailed the decision Haruna Kigbu, and his supporters to dump the Peoples Democratic Party for the APC.

The News Agency of Nigeria reported that Kigbu defected with thousands of his supporters at an elaborate ceremony in Lafia.

Sule expressed joy over the defection, as he promised that his administration would not relent in efforts to tackle insecurity and provide infrastructure to better the lives of people in rural and urban areas.

Dogara, who was the guest speaker at the occasion, described Kigbu as an asset and one who contributed immensely in his own ways while in the House of Representatives.

Receiving the new members into the party, Mamman described the development as a ‘homecoming’ for the former lawmaker, noting that Kigbu began his political career and won election under the platform of the Congress for Progressive Change which later merged with other parties to form APC.

He said the defection of the former lawmaker to the APC would add value to the party and that he would be accorded equal rights and privileges like other members of the party.

Kigbu, in his remarks, said after wandering around for so long, he had returned to his original ‘home’. He expressed gratitude to members and leaders of the APC for accepting him and his supporters as he assured them that he would work for the success of the party in all future elections.

NAN reported that Kigbu also donated five space buses to the party at the occasion.
