Sokoto APC ready for Registration, Revalidation exercise – Chairman

The Sokoto State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), says it is ready for the planned Membership Registration and Revalidation exercise, scheduled to hold between 9th February, 2021 to 23rd February, 2021.

This was disclosed on Thursday, in Sokoto, by the State Caretaker Chairman of the Party, Alhaji Isa Sadiq Achida, at a Stakeholders’ Meeting.

In a statement by the Senior Special Assistant, Media and Publicity to Senator Magatakarda Wamakko, Bashir Rabe Mani which was made available to CAPITAL POST on Friday said, the exercise was sequel to an earlier directive of the National Headquarters of the party, similar stakeholders’ meetings had successfully been held across the 23 Local Governments of the state.

“Today’s meeting is convened to brainstorm on the forthcoming registration and revalidation exerise of the party and we are all ready for it.

“We will leave no stone unturned to ensure the success of this all-important exercise .It is very crucial for the growth and development of the party ,” Achida, added.

Also speaking, the Chairman of the National Membership Registration Committee deployed to Sokoto State,. Professor Sale Kanam, expressed delight with the arrangements so far made by the State Chapter of the party, with a view to ensure the success of the exercise .

Kanam explained that, the exercise was aimed at enabling the old members of the party to revalidate their membership of the party, while new members would also be registered.

This, he noted, was very imperative in view of the Registration of the APC since 2014, with the registration of members therefrom.

The Chairman also said that, all the Local Governments Supervisors to conducts the exercise had already been trained ,while the training would be cascaded to the wards and polling units’ officials .

He stated that, the exerise had since been flagged off last Tuesday, in Daura, Katsina State, where President Muhammadu Buhari, revalidated his membership of the APC.

Kanam, among other do’s and don’ts of the exerise, said that , there will be no registration by proxy, while priority will be given to the old members of the party, among others .

In a goodwill message, the former Minister of Transport, Hon. Yusuf Suleiman, called on the stakeholders to be united, in order to ensure the conduct of a hitch- free exercise.

Also speaking on behalf of the APC members at the House of Representatives, Hon. Musa S. Adar, explained that, APC remains the party of Sokoto people and it is united under the leadership of its leader, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko.

He assured their total support and loyalty to the party and Wamakko, even as he assured that they will ensure the success of the registration exercise.

Also speaking , the House Leader at the Sokoto State House of Assembly, Hon. Bello Isa Ambarura assured that, the APC Members at the Assembly will remain loyal to the party, while he assured that, they will ensure the success of the exercise.

In his remarks, Ambassador Sahabi Isa Gada, called for unity among the party, to ensure the total success of the exercise.

The goodwill message to the meeting of Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko and that of the Minister of Police Affairs, Alhaji Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi were delivered by the State Caretaker Chairman of the party, Alhaji Isa Sadiq Achida.
