Bandits behind abduction of Kankara schoolboys in Katsina State reportedly engaged in deadly Supremacy clash thereby wounded a notorious kingpin of one bandit group.

The gang leader who was identified as
as Dan Karami, was said to be the mastermind behind the infamous abduction of about 334 school students from a boarding school In Kankara, Kastina State that were later released after negotiation and payment of ransom days later.

Reports gathered said the kingpin he sustained serious injuries during the clash between armed men belonging to Mani Na Saleh Mai Dan Doki and his gang at Illela village of Safana Local Government Area of Katsina.

In the ensuing confusion, about 20 gang members of Dan Karami were reportedly killed by the rival bandit as they fought over the control of some sophisticated guns and ammunition as well as rustled cattle.


According to sources, Dan Karami and his armed group are very notorious for cattle rustling, abduction and terror in communities especially around Safana, Danmusa and parts of Batsari Local Government Areas of Katsina state.

Meanwhile, the Police Public Relations Officer of Kastina state, Isa Gambo, confirmed the incident, but was unwilling to discuss in detail with journalists who sought for confirmation.
