Kogi Deputy governor, Edward Onoja denies ownership of multi-billion naira, Enyo Oil company
Kogi State Deputy governor, Chief Edward David Onoja has denied ownership of Enyo Oil, a multi-billion naria oil and gas retail outlet.
Rumour has been rife since Edward Onoja’s days as Chief of Staff to the governor during Yahaya Bello’s first tenure that he owns Enyo Oil.
Enyo Oil seems to be one of the fastest growing oil and gas company with filing stations all over the country servicing, PMS, AGO and other lubricants.
‘Enyo’, which means ‘good’ in Igala language has been speculated that the Deputy governor bought over the filing stations using cronies, since he is still in government service.
According reports, which has not been confirmed by CAPITAL POST, Onoja uses third party for acquisition of Enyo Oil since it hasn’t reflected on the code of conduct form in 2016 when he was filling the Codenof Conduct form.
But opening up on the long time rumour on the ownership status of the company, Onoja wrote on his verified Twitter handle which was seen by CAPITAL POST, saying that those peddling the rumour ought to have gone to the Corporate Affairs Commission for confirmation.
Describing those behind the rumour as ignorant, he wrote:
“It’s either a clear show of ignorance or mischief to think, believe or say I own EnyoOil.
“A simple google search would have saved you the embarrassment. I’m sure a Primary School pupil wouldn’t make such senseless statement. Show some education bro.”
