Niger lawmaker says Buhari’s aides responsible for nation’s woes, tells religious leader to offer prayers
Religious leaders across the country, have been admonished to intensify total suplications towards bringing about the lasting peace and security in the country.
Chairman House Committee on Labour and productivity in Niger State House of Assembly, Malik Madaki Bosso stated this at a quranic graduation ceremony held in Bosso at the weekend.
He said the country under the current leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari is passing through a very trying and difficult moment in the political history of the land, urging all and sundry to join hands with religious leaders to seek divine intervention
According to the lawmaker, it is sad that the country is facing many challenges ranging from poverty, diseases, insecurity among other challenges, stressing the needs for public and political office holders to put the interest of the electorate above their personal interest in the over all interest of the country.
He noted with regret that some political office holders under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari are not doing anything to assist him in transforming the country, rather, they are only interested in their personal and selfish interest stating that the trend is unhealthy for the country.
He explained that President Muhammadu Buhari surrounded himself with people who are not supportive of his administration, “only after themselves and their families.
“These people are not even wishing him to succeed, but only out to enrich themselves without mindful of using their wealth and position to positively impact on their electorate.
“These are the people that surrounded themselves with President Muhammadu Buhari. The only thing that will give him good direction to lead the country is our collective and total supplications to Allah, and we should join hands with our religious leaders to assist him in prayers for the Buhari to sumount the barrage of challenges the country is facing under his administration”, the lawmaker requested.
Malik Madaki observed with dismay that some public and political office holders hide under the shades of religion to amass wealth without using such wealth to impact on the needy in the society to better their lots adding that it is unfortunate that “we are not doing what is expected of us as leaders.
“We should always bear in minds that what ever we aquire on earth through our various position, will not take us to our grave it is how we impact on the common man that we will be remember of us”
Buhari as a person, he explained, is committed to give Nigerians quality Governance that improve the well-being of the electorate”, but the people he appointed to support him are making things very difficult for him by doing everything within their means to sabotage his administration.
“The only thing that is left for us now is just to seek for God’s intervention through aggresive prayers to give him direction to take the country out of the present situations we find ourselves. With our collective prayers, I’m sure President Buhari will take us to the promise destination.”
He called Nigerians to continue to keep hope alive, assuring that with the collective prayers and total suplications of all Nigerians the he will sumount the challenges the country is passing through.
