The Youth Wing of Christian Association of Nigeria (YOWICAN) Adamawa State has cautioned Senator representing Adamawa South Senatorial district, Ishaku Elisha Abbo to stop attacks on Christian leaders or any citizen in the State.

The Senator has been lampooning and calling unprinted names of Christian leaders in Adamawa State on his suspicion that they are close to his political arch rival, governor Ahmadu Fintiri.

Change of Name

The CAN younger wing in a statement tackled Abbo, reminding him that he was involved in ‘sex toy shop scandal’, which he has incurred a legal liability of the sum of N50 million as ordered by the trial court of justice.

The group lamented that the penalty would have been channelled into empowering his constituents who voted for him, but was unfortunately going to pay the married woman that he assaulted.

The statement which was issued by YOWICAN Public Relations Officer, PRO, Adamawa state Chapter, Henry Ibrahim, at the Secretariat, Jimeta, Yola observed that Abbo’s incessant attacks on Christian leaders might be due to frustration as a result of his political miscalculation, saying he should leave Christian leaders out of his political travails.

“We call on the general public to ignore the blackmail from Sen. Abbo and his cronies and note that the clergies are not the architects for his political misfortunes and squabbles, hence they shouldn’t be dragged into his perceived political scandals with Governor Fintiri of Adamawa state or even his colleagues at the National Assembly, Abuja nor should they bear the consequences of his irresponsible behaviour.

“While YOWICAN Adamawa State and host of youth across Nigeria regret his dishonourable behaviours, more assaults or fight will fetch him more troubles and add to the numerous ongoing court cases of criminal assaults.

“Recently a court in Abuja fined Sen. Abbo N50 million as damage for assault in a Sex toyshop; beside been embarrassed, we are pained, the money would be paid from the constituency allowance that could change the lives of over 500 jobless youth in Adamawa North Senatorial District?

“Why is Sen. Abbo desperate to hunt for trouble? Fighting Christian leaders will only add to his woes in all spheres of life” the statement said.

The group further pointed out instances of Senator Abbo’s misbehaviour likened to a modern day street charlatan, adding that the lawmaker is an embarrassment to the Christian body.

They wondered how a lawmaker could pounced on a married woman who was on her beat in her own shop without provocation, adding that if there was reasons, the Court wouldn’t have fined Abbo to the tune of N50 million.

“It is on record that the Senator’s life is full of scandals which is a reflection of his person and character, saying that they have been embarrassed all along by his behavour.

According to the YOWICAN IN HIS STATE, “Abbo a Married Christian “Senator” patronized Sex toy shop and beat up an innocent pregnant lady in same shop in 2019. Abbo a Christian “Senator” assaults a female colleague Sen. Remi, a respected Pastor with RCCG.

“Abbo a Christian was accused by his In-law to have assaulted his late wife the story is on YouTube. Sen. Abbo handcuffed one of his Aides and assaulted him, inflicting life threatening injuries on the young man.

“Sen. Abbo was seen in video assaulting a young man in Mubi, his home town.”

The Christian youths call on Senator Abbo to seek forgiveness from God and those Christian leaders whom he had blackmailed, adding that his life may take shape if he repent.

“We wish to sound a strong warning to Senator Abbo and his cohorts to henceforth stop the unnecessary transfer of aggression and pointing of accusing fingers at our leaders who in no way responsible for his predicaments and face the business he was elected for or face the wrath of the Christian youth in the state.”
