2023: Nasarawa group applauds Senator Al-Makura, pledges support

As the political podium of 2023 election continued to be an interesting one in Nasarawa state, politicians and their supporters have commenced underground politicking activities with a view to win heart of masses in the coming polls.

Though, some political mathematicians sees this early canvases of support as one of ingredients that will no doubt convinced voters to cast their votes base on first come, first serve.

This came to the fore when 3000 youth groups from, Nasarawa South Senatorial District thrown their weight behind re-election of Senator Umar Tanko Al-makura for continuity in 2023.

CAPITAL POST reports that the leadership of various groups came together in a forum they tagged: “In architect of modern Nasarawa we stand”.

In their separate contributions, leaders of different groups formed the alliance mentioned some of the reason why they make themselves available to campaign for the former Governor, Senator Al-makura include humanitarian and quality representation in the red chamber.

“For your information, we are not a political grouo. The essence of forming our respective groups is different from one political party or the order.

“Why we converged this meeting was that as youth who are the beacon of every politicians, we have never even in a dream experienced what is called constituency projects and programmes that have direct impact on the lives of people of Nasarawa South Senatorial District untill now that, Senator Al-makura is there. They said.

“To mention to you some of the dividends of democracy so far extended to your constituents within one and half years are distribution of palliatives to the vulnerable at the peak of deadly COVID19 pandemic.

They further revealed that, Senator Al-Makura has engaged some youths, women, people living with disabilities and widows in various skills acquisition in his quest to ensure they became self reliant. That was not all, he equally provided them with tools to start their own trade and such gesture has never happened untill now.

“Recently, he embarked on solar streets light, renovation of schools in part of this Senatorial District, among numerous constituency projects.

“The message here is that anymore dreaming to unseat, our eloquent, vibrant , capacity and confident, Senator he/she should swallow or wakeup from their slumber because we are not going to compromise.

“Al-makura will continue to represent us in the red chamber pending when he will tell the entire people of southern part of Nasarawa state that he is no longer fit to serve them by way of retiring from active politics or otherwise that is our position.”
