Burnt property: Igboho reveals those behind attack, tell them to visit where he lives

Sunday Adeyemo, alias Igboho has reacted to the burning of his property at Soka, Ibadan, saying he didn’t suspect herdsmen to be behind the arson.

Speaking with journalists, the Yoruba social activist believed that those who carried out the attack had help from his kinsmen.

“What I find surprising is that some Yorubas are in support of the herdsmen to set my house on fire. I’m saddened by it,” he said.

When asked whom he suspected to be behind the attack, he said, “For now, I do not suspect anyone.”

He dared them to visit him anytime they want, saying that the attackers knew where he lives.

“When they knew they could fight, fire gunshots, and set a house ablaze, isn’t it where I stay that they are supposed to come? If they had come to the house where I stay, I would have had evidence for you people (journalists) because they won’t all escape.

“It’s either you meet their dead bodies or meet them with broken legs. I thank God that they applied wisdom by going to a house where they know that I don’t live and destroyed my properties and burnt it down.”

He estimated the burnt property to be worth N50 million.

Igboho further explained that, “those who were at the house are the ones who can give an explanation to that on language spoken by the attackers when he was asked by journalists on language they used when carrying out the operation.

The incident was carried out few hours after the meeting between the Nigerian Governors’ Forum and those of Oyo and Ondo over lingering tension occasioned by quit notices to Fulani herders.

The leadership of Miyetti Allah in the South West were also part of the meeting where it was resolved that all the Fulani herders should be properly profiled and open grazing banned.

Igboho’s grievances, CAPITAL POST reports, was the endless kidnapping, robbery, killing and rape, a situation that was strongly linked to Fulani herders in South West forests.
