Nassarawa LG election: Group drums support for re-election of Maifata
As Nasarawa State Local Government Election draw close, a group under the auspices of Advocate for Good Governance at local levels on Monday canvased support for Chairman of Lafia Local Government, Hon. Aminu Mua’zu Maifata.
The group which had their annual meeting, unanimously adopted, Hon. Aminu Mua’zu Maifata as their sole candidate in the LG election election slated for February, 2021.
Speaking to our correspondent, leader of the group, Bamaiyi Emmanuel said the decision to back the candidature of Hon. Maifata is not far from his tremendous achievements recorded so far in the last 3 years in office.
“Frankly speaking, even the enemies of Hon. Maifata can attest to the fact that he has done what others couldn’t.
“Continuing fornthe next three years, a lot would have happened in terms of physical and human development in the locality.
Bamaiyi enumerated some achievements under the watch of Hon. Maifata to include, construction of Lafia West Primary School, rehabilitation, renovation and provision of instructional materials for conducive atmosphere of learning in almost all the primary schools in the area.
Other sector are, rehabilitation and renovation of Primary Healthcare centers as well as provision of manpower that are managing all the centers.
According to Emmanuel, he also thumbed the tireless efforts of the local government, boss despite the meager resources, “He was able to embark on road construction among many other meaningful projects that have direct bearing on the lives of commoners.
“These are some quality assessment carried out by our team of experts which report was deliverated in this meeting hence there is a need for the association to canvases support for his ambition for a second term.
“For clarity, I have never met with him one on one, but as leader of this forum, just as I mentioned to you, we worked on the report of our team of experts on good governance and developmental projects.
Emmanuel shared more light that the assessment is a continuous one as the team is also assessing performance of other councils chairmen which they said would be revealed in no distant time.
