The National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) had last week, announced a template for distribution of vaccines once they arrived with Kogi State’s allocation of 1,030 vaccines.

But Kogi State governor, who hasn’t believed the existence of COVID-19 despite obvious coronavirus related deaths in the State insisted that he would not accept the much awaited vaccines.

He claimed that the jabs are meant to kill people.

CAPITAL POST reports that President Muhammadu Buhari and the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo have indicated to get vaccinated on live Television to douse fears of any ulterior motive associated with the vaccines.

Most Nigerian governors have also indicated their willingness to be vaccinated, hence, they were all waiting for the consignment to be delivered to their States.

Meanwhile, the country is currently recording nearly over 1,000 COVID-19 cases daily with the Federal government asking Civil Servants on grade level 1 – 10 to work from home.

The Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 has earlier announced that the vaccines were safe, saying there would be subjected to medical test and approval before distribution, while asking Nigerians not to panic for any reason.

Bello wondered how Scientists could produce vaccines under one year for coronavirus pandemic which is novel, while similar vaccines couldn’t be produced for. other viruses, he argued in a viral video.

While addressing a crowd in a viral video, the governor maintained: “The vaccine is meant to kill people instead of being a source of healing.

“Vaccines are being produced in less than one year of COVID-19. There is no vaccine yet for HIV, malaria, cancer, headache and for several other diseases that are killing us. They want to use the (COVID-19) vaccines to introduce the disease that will kill you and us. God forbid,” he said.

“We should draw our minds back to what happened in Kano during the Pfizer polio vaccines that crippled and killed our children. We have learned our lessons.

“If they say they are taking the vaccines in the public, allow them take their vaccines. Don’t say I said you should not take it but if you want to take it open your eyes before you take the vaccines.”

Meanwhile, the NCDC, on Tuesday reported 1,617 new cases of COVID-19 in the country, with Lagos high on the list with 776 positive cases.

Kaduna, Kwara and the Federal Capital Territory also recorded high numbers with the agency announcing, 147, 131 and 102 respectively.

The country now has a total of 112,004 confirmed cases, 89,939 discharged patients and 1,449 deaths.
