COVID-19: Fintiri vows, he wouldn’t lock down Adamawa for any reason

Governor Ahmadi Fintiri of Adamawa State said, he will not lockdown the State as a result of COVID-19 pandemic or for whatever reasons.

He stated this, while answering questions from newsmen at Yola International Airport upon his return from vacation.

Change of Name

Adamawa State had in the second.wave of COVID-19 recorded about 50 cases, being the highest number in a single day. The number has however dropped significantly with the last new infection of 26 persons recorded on the 10th of January, 2021.

A total of 494 infections with 233 on admission, while 238 has since been discharged with 26 dead so.farnin the.State.

”There will be no lockdown as far as I’m concern. But the committee and the state government are doing their best to see that we further enlighten our people to brace up and to ensure that we keep up with the COVID-19 protocols so that we remain safe in the state and the entire nation. This is my wish, but I won’t lock down the state for whatsoever reason,” Fintiri said.

The governor further urged the citizens to adhere strictly to safery protocols, noting that his administration remain committed to better lives of every one of them.
