Senator Adeyemi commends Bello for appointing Okun people into government

Senator representing Kogi West Senatorual district, Smart Adeyemi has commended Kogi State governor, Yahaya Bello, saying he has unprecedented commitment towards a system of fairness, justice and equity in governance of Kogi State that has seen Kogi West benefitted from both state and federal appointments.

In a statement issued by Adeyemi’s Legislative Aide, Olowo Cornelius and made available to journalists, the lawmaker said, justice, fairness and equity are the major interwoven qualities of a great leader who is absolutely committed to good governance. This explains the unity and peaceful coexistence of the highly diverse state today.

Change of Name

He stated that the appointment of Justice Henry Olusuyi as the Chief Judge of Kogi State is quite significant, so also was that of Justice Bayo Olowosegun, who was recently appointed as the President of Kogi State Customary Court of Appeal.

In addition, he said, the appointment and inauguration of the four new judges into the Kogi State Judiciary is a clear reflection of the Governor’s resolve to give all Kogi indigenes a sense of belonging.

He recalled that recently, Justice Bamidele Rotimi was one of the four Judges newly appointed into the High Court.

In his words, “the appointment of Yusufu Abubakar as Acting Chairman of Kogi State Internal Revenue Service (KGIRS) could not have come at a better time.

“It is quite reassuring that the Governor considered Kogi West for such a critical position.

“Also, Professor Olayemi Akinwumi emerged as Vice Chancellor for the Federal University, Lokoja, without any interference from the State government. The Vice Chancellor emerged on the bases of merits and integrity of Professor Akinwumi”.

According to him, the welfare of the people of Kogi West has been prioritized under the governor which he said he will continue to enjoy their total support and unwavering loyalty to his course.
