NCPC boss pays condolence visit to Archbishop Ndagoso
The Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission Rev Yakubu Pam has paid a condolence visit to the Catholic Archbishop of Kaduna Archdiocese, Most Rev. Matthew Ndagoso on the death of the late Catholic Archbishop Emeritus of Kaduna Archdiocese, Most Rev Peter Ja’tau at the Bishop Court Kaduna in his capacity as the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria CAN 19 Northern states, including FCT.
Rev. Pam said they were grieved in their heart on the death of the clergy.
He stressed that the late Archbishop Emeritus did a great work in the vineyard of God. He described him as a ” General of the gospel in Northern Nigeria”.
He explained that because of his commitment to the work of God, the late Archbishop Emeritus was found worthy to serve as the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria CAN 19 Northern states.
Rev.Pam reiterated that the late Archbishop related very well with them in CAN and every one was comfortable with him which made it possible for him to serve as CAN Chairman Northern Nigeria for about three decades.
The Chairman of CAN 19 Northern states said with the death of late Archbishop Peter Ja’tau,”they have lost a father”.
He commiserated with the Catholic Archbishop of Kaduna Archdiocese, Most Rev Matthew Ndagoso on behalf of the Northern CAN, adding that his loss was not for the Catholic church alone, but for all of them and as such the Northern CAN mourns with them.
Responding, the Catholic Archbishop of Kaduna Archdiocese, Most Rev Matthew Ndagoso, thanked the NCPC boss for finding time to commiserate with them.
He affirmed that the late Archbishop Emeritus lived a good life worthy of emulation and his name was synonymous with the Catholic church. He added,” the work he has done for Northern Nigeria, you cannot put value on it”.
He promised to strive to build on his legacies for what he had done for the Catholic church and for the Church in Northern Nigeria.
He assured that the Catholic church in Nigeria and the church in Northern Nigeria would work together so that all may be one in the spirit of ecumenism.
Rev Pam was accompanied on the condolence visit by some members of the Northern CAN Executives as well as NCPC officials.
