4 suspected attackers of Soludo arrested
Police in Anambra have arrested four suspected gunmen who opened fire on the former governor of Anambra State that led to death of three Police officers.
Professor Charles Soludo former Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria came under attack at Isuofia in Aguata Local Government of Anambra State on Wednesday at a Town Hall meeting with the youths ahead November governorship election in the State.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, Ikenga Tochukwu, in a state on Thursday night said four more suspects had been arrested.
The PPRO said, “Police operatives attached to Anambra State Command today 1st April, 2021 have arrested four additional suspects in connection to the recent attack and gruesome murder of three policemen at Isuofia Civic Center in Aguata LGA of Anambra State.
“The suspects are: Mbah Victor, 30, John Olisakwe , 21, Chigozie Omeh, 20, and Emmanuel Nnobi, 28.
He added, “The suspects confessed to have actively taken part in the attack and subsequent abduction of the Commissioner for Public and Utilities, Emeka Ezenwanne, which the Command is working assiduously to rescue.
“Consequently efforts is still on going to apprehend other fleeing accomplices, unravel the circumstances surrounding the incidence and bring perpetrators book.”
