Ahead of 2027, some northern political clements have commenced in the open what has been going on behind the scenes discussion and strategic to stop President Ahmed Bola Tinubu in 2027.
The politicians from the northern block, notably the former Governor of Kaduna State for eight years, Malam Nasiru El-Rufai and the former Chief Security Officer to the late military dictator, General Sani Abacha were seen paying August visit to the National Chairman of the Social Democratic Party, SDP on Tuesday in Abuja.
The aim of alliance is very clear and that’s to unseat President Ahmed Bola Tinubu in 2027. Among the proponents of alliance from the South West is Segun Showunmi who also made the visit to the SDP Secretariat in Abuja.
Though, the discussion with the National Chairman of the Social Democratic Party on Tuesday was sketchy, top source close to the meting confirmed to CAPITAL POST that the politicians were looking for common ground ahead of 2027 to take over governance.
They expressed disappointment with the present administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu emphasising that Nigerians are facing economic hardship and are yearning for change which they believed, a strong and virile coalition can offer them.
The source added that the proposed alliance will float a fresh mega political party with war chest to confront the governi g All Progressives Congress. The party will also offer a neutral and an opportunity for all to participate equitably , emphasizing that it was a form of alliance or coalition that can dislodge the governing APC.
Major Hamza Al-Mustapha (Rtd) and El-Rufai expressed the hopes of a new party taking over governance in 2027, given that the bad leadership of the APC under President would be its undoing of the APC.
Senator Abubakar Umar Gada also vowed that Tinubu would be unseated in 2027, citing anti-people policies.
