2023: Tinubu visits Jonathan, seeks collaboration
Ahead of 2023 general election, the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Ahmed Bola Tinubu on Tuesday visited ex-President Goodluck Jonathan in Abuja.
Tinubu and Jonathan went into closed door meeting where they believed to have discussed the 2023 general election.
After the meeting, Tinubu told journalists that he consulted Jonathan as a former president and an elder statesman and not whether he is a member of APC or not.
Leading Nigeria, Tinubu said was beyond partisan politics, hence, he was seeking the support of all leading personalities in Nigeria to brainstorm the best way to get the country on a right track.
Few weeks ago, Tinubu paid a similar visit to the former President Olusegun Obasanjo at Ota in Ogun State before he travelled to London.
In London Tinubu met with Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike where both men met behind closed doors.
Vice Presidential candidate of the APC Kashim Shettima, Governors of Ogun State Dapo Abiodun, Kwara AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, Zamfara State Bello Matawalle, Jigawa Abubakar Badaru, and Plateau Simon Lalong who is also the Director General of the campaign council accompanied Tinubu to Jonathan’s residence.
