2023 Presidency: Kogi Commissioner drum support for Yahaya Bello’s candidacy
An aspirant vying for the position of Kogi Central Senatorial District and former Commissioner of Works and Housing in the State, Abubakar Sadiku Ohere has thrown his weight behind ambition of the governor of the State, Yahaya Bello to emerge as the presidential flag bearer of the All Progressivea Congress in 2023.
Bello obtained his nomination and expression of interest forms in the Party’s national secretariat with the presence of teeming supporters from various support groups across the country yesterday.
Addressing the media, the former Commissioner said “the purpose of our gathering this afternoon is to come and showcase our good will and support for our next President in the person of Alhaji Yahaya Bello”.
According to Ohere, Bello as the incumbent governor of Kogi state recorded tremendous achievement in the state especially in unifying the people of the state despite their geographical and ethnic differences.
As part of efforts to promote peace and unity in Nigeria which is the major challenge currently facing the country, the Senate aspirant expressed assurance that the governor, if given opportunity to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023 will put systems in place that will harmonise and unify Nigerians.
Speaking further, he noted that “In the current dispensation, the youth demography, the governance is shifting from the older version to the youth demography. And when i say the youth demography, I am talking of the elite class that have proper understanding of Nigeria, by that his excellency (Governor Bello), represents that youth constituency and by this I am convinced that the youth will not disappoint him in May 2023”.
On his Senatorial ambition, the former Commissioner said if elected he will ensure that he package all legislation that will create an enablement for federal government to attend to the needs of the people of his constituency.
