18-year old panel beater arrested for allegedly killing Permanent Secretary in Minna
Men of the Special Squad of the Niger State Police Command apprehended an 18-year old panel beater alleged to have killed the former Permanent Secretary in the Niger State Ministry of Works, Arch. Adamu Jagaba.
The Police authority in a statement through the command Public Relation Officer (PPRO) Mr Abiodun Wasiu SP stated that the teenager, Fatiyah Abdulhakeem was arrested along Bosso Estate for being in possession of the Toyota Camry belonging to the deceased.
According to the statement, men of the Tudun Wada Divisional Command had on the 7th of December, 2024 at about 3 pm received a report concerning a culpable homicide that at about 11.30 am, some yet-to-be-identified assailants trespassed into block industry located along Eastern Bye- pass,Minna, attacked and stabbed one Adamu Jagaba on the head severally and made away with his vehicle.
The statement disclosed that the victim was rushed to a nearby hospital where he gave up the ghost and was confirmed dead.
The police operatives of the Div visited the scene and commenced investigation into the unfortunate incident.
“Fortunately, on the local circulation of the vehicle details to all police points and formation within the State, on the same date at about 7pm, the Police Crack Squad of the Command intercepted the vehicle along Bosso Estate road, Minna with the suspect, named; Fatiyah Abdulhakeem aged 18yrs of Tayi Village via Bosso Minna” the Statement disclosed
During interrogation, according to Wasiu Abiodun, the suspect confessed to being the victim’s car painter and visited him at his block industry located at Eastern Bye-pass, via Maitumbi opposite PDP Secretariat Minna.
He said after discussing changing the vehicle bumper, he deliberately stabbed the deceased severally on the head and neck, also hit him multiple times with a stapler in the office and made away with his Toyota Camry vehicle with Reg. No. MNA 61 AE.
He confessed further that he conspired with some of the deceased workers, who gave him the target and more information in carrying out the crime.
He said he has other gang members he does such heinous acts with, as he
mentioned their names for investigation. Effort is ongoing to apprehend the members and suspect will be charged to court for prosecution, immediately after investigation
